Kathryn changed the way I experienced my wedding day in a significant way that I will be eternally grateful for.
Two years before I was engaged, I knew Blnk Films would be an integral part of my wedding. I'm a wedding vendor too, and instead of having a week of R&R surrounding my adventure elopement, I allowed my couples to reschedule due to COVID-19 and wound up with four weddings the same week as mine. My own elopement turned into a chore, another thing on the list to be done, and my mind was elsewhere pretty much the entire time. I was stressed out and irritated that our truck's suspension handled an off-road situation differently than my husband let on. Before Kathryn delivered our film, my memories of my elopement day were "meh" at best, but I certainly wouldn't admit to that.
With her incredible storytelling, Kathryn brought all the wonderful parts of the day (which were most of the parts) to the forefront of my mind. She and Jill, her amazing second shooter, were absolutely the most important part of documenting the day. I roll my eyes when people say things are priceless, but they were truly an invaluable piece of the puzzle. I could go on and on about her unique, cinematic style and intense dedication to each couple. Kathryn is a calm presence through potentially stressful moments, generous with her time, and cares deeply for her craft and the impact it has on her clients and their families.
If you will be satisfied with a wedding video that outlines your day in a linear way (with a slow, heartfelt song as you're getting ready and saying your vows, transitioning into a fun poppy song as you dance the night away), Blnk Films isn't for you. Kathryn is for couples that want to create a family heirloom that captures the most authentic representation of their epic love story and preserves it for generations.
This is the bare minimum we can say... When we started looking for a videographer, we didn't even know if we really wanted one so we just casually were going listing by listing... "oh that's pretty" ..."great price"..."I like that song"..."ummm no"... we were just seeing what was there. Then we realized we had been sitting in silence with tears in our eyes for minutes... so we knew BLNK Films was different. Because we instantly felt something. There were lots of beautiful videos but trust that no camera or song or filter could ever do what Kathryn does. She is not your cousin or college roommate recording on your old camera... She is a filmmaker. She moves with intention and its evident in every second of every film. Watch any of them...any... not just the ones with perfect lighting or the most gorgeous venue. She films love. More particularly, your love. Your story. After watching our film (commentary on with my husband and I shouting, crying, pausing, rewinding, pointing out little moments we never knew were happening and every detail we were too busy to see) the first thing my husband said was "that's us. that's our love. that's our story. that's it." I couldn't have said it better if I tried...and I tried. Her films speak for themselves. You'll see. When you talk she listens. She takes in your vision completely while staying true to her voice and aesthetic. Kathryn was not just on time but early (that goes for my pre wedding meet ups with her too), kind and personable with my family, laughing with us and celebrating us. Made us feel like we weren't just another client. It was like when you used to think Justin Timberlake was singing right to you. ha And in case you need more...Kathryn and Jill moved around the space in such a precise way. Its like we knew they were there but somehow they were always bleeding seamlessly into the space and the people. They also created an organic rhythm with the photographer. I can not stress enough how important that ended up being on such a busy and full day. I know there are dollar signs everywhere you look during this season. But looking back, we would have sacrificed almost anything else if it meant having this film. Believe me when I say this is where to use it. This is all you get. You don't get to take the rest with you. After everything is over and the room is empty, all you have left is each other...the story...and Kathryn is an award winning illustrator. Literally.
Blnk Films is absolutely incredible and professional. Kathryn, the filmmaker, will spend hours upon hours making sure your special moments are captured beautifully. Her artistry in her films is breathtaking and will leave you with tears in your eyes. She is meticulous with her work and I would have never chosen any other company to capture my wedding day. I don't even know where to begin when talking about Kathryn/Blnk Films!! First of all Kathryn is an absolute dream to work with! She is organized, thoughtful, and made us feel so comfortable on our big day. Kathryn. Is. AMAZING. I searched long and hard for a videographer that had the vibe and passion I was looking for, plus so many videographers seem to follow a standard boring formula for every couple they work with. I was blown away when I came across BLNK's work and I'm so happy we decided to go with Kathryn. It was truly awesome working with her for our wedding - from the very first email all the way to the delivery and unwrapping of our wedding video. You can immediately tell Kathryn is a lover of love and truly cares about getting to know the couple and their stories, and she just has the deepest and sweetest soul. She made working with her enjoyable and comfortable, and even though she was happy to just be a fly on the wall to capture our day, I loved having her there with me at every moment as a friend, especially as I was getting ready :)
And as for the video - it was absolutely beautiful and perfectly captured the love and emotions of the day. Kathryn is brilliant at storytelling in a way that felt natural and organic. She seamlessly weaved together the highlights of the day that was true to us. Even my husband was truly impressed and said he wished she could have captured our honeymoon as well!

Amazing is an understatement. We honestly could not have asked for a better person to capture our wedding weekend. The video brought tears to my eyes! It felt like a dream because it all goes by so fast, but we are so lucky to have had Katie create such a beautiful video that we can have for the years to come. The experience was so fun with her, and it was so great to be able to feel comfortable while it was all happening. She literally created magic with the video that she put together. I was unsure at first if we needed a video for our wedding, but our photographer recommended Blnk Films and I immediately fell in love. Her work is so intimate and beautiful!
